Tips For Aspiring CG Guitarists
Gee… I really don’t know how this will work out… but I have this geeky idea about putting up a collection of lessons of how to play songs that are used in CHC cell group meetings, together with the chords and chord diagrams/tabs, so that everyone who needs resources can find some use of it.
To find a song, please use the “search” feature in this blog, or look under the category “cover”. This will show up a list of songs currently in this blog. I’ll build up the list gradually, so please be patient with me.
I’m not the best guitarist around, but if you can’t squeeze your way into the guitar class, or can’t find anyone decent and have the time to teach you, then this can be the PLAN B for your vision to one day serve as a cell group guitarist, or just learn a song or two to worship God in your quiet time.
I think it’s cool because I HATE singing along with CDs. Cannot really flow with the H.S (as in when you want to sing the “Allelujah” tag longer and linger in the presence, they go on to the next song which happens to be “Paint The Town Red”!! Arrgggghhhhh). Think about reverse flow of tear drops..
I think it’s not a bad idea, judging that nowadays there’s requests from Malaysia, Taiwan, China, India, Japan, etc, on how to play this song and that song, etc… I believe that their hunger is worth the effort doing this. If you wanna contribute, drop a link too! ![]()
Anyway, we’ll start with some recent songs sang starting from Asia Conference 2008. Already got people asking how to play songs like Elevate, Above All Else, Heaven, etc… some videos may be posted ages ago, so you might want to do a search on the blog by entering the keyword “cover” and a list will show up.
Oh – by the way, you can get most of the lyrics (for songsheet) and chords from http://www.guitar4christ.com . You need to register though, but it’s worth it! It’s got loads of cool people, resources and entertainment (by some jokers) there.
So come on in and fellowship!
